Horses for Sale
Gilfach is often asked by clients to take their horses on for re-sale, safe in the knowledge that we will endeavor to find the right new owner for their horse and achieve a realistic price for them. Very occasionally Gilfach sells one of its own to horses to some very lucky buyer!
Our Ethos
Having had many horses in for remedial training, Gilfach is only too well aware that matching the right horse to the right owner is absolutely essential for both parties mental and physical health! Being realistic and honest about the horse on offer and the needs/wants/aspirations of the prospective purchaser is a must. We do not want any of our horses at Gilfach to go to unsuitable homes and an uncertain future. Equally, priding ourselves on honesty and realism, we would not want to pass on to an unsuspecting purchaser a horse unsuitable for their needs.
Our Service
Gilfach will take on horses in preparation for sale on behalf of owners. Our priority is finding the right home for that particular horse. Any obvious remedial training or treatment that needs to be done, is done, and the horse is advertised for sale by us on behalf of the owner. Our fee for this service is for the care and training we have provided, we do not take a "cut" of the sale fee. A realistically priced, and honestly advertised horse (who is actually fated to leave Gilfach !!!) will find themselves their ideal new owner. We don't choose them, they choose us!

Alkazar (“Mr Al”)
A gentlemanly 17 year old TB gelding looking for a more active retirement!
Having retired unscathed from a successful racing career, Al has spent a good few years with no job to do; now re-skilled as a reasonably competent all-rounder, Al wants something useful to do with a like-minded rider.
Al is around 16.2hh, Chestnut, blemish free, and quite nicely put together. Al’s temperament is kind and genuine, but prefers a rider/leader who is quiet, competent and laid-back. Al’s current owner is devastated that she is not that person, but wishes to find Al the new owner that is.
Al has spent the last two months being fittened and re-schooled at Gilfach. Any questions regarding Al should you have any will be answered sincerely and honestly, as Al’s future life is the priority for us and his owner.
