Bunny welcoming McGee to Gilfach
A spectacular Gilfach sunrise
Sheila & Trinto in Portugal
Diary (November 2011)
Horses
We are fully into the winter routine now, with the "live-outs" (Floy, Timber, Zela, Pandora, Billy & Bobby) on the first part of our extensive winter grazing. Molly and Cherry are being kept supple by 24hr turn out in one of the sand turn-out areas, as are George and Ozzy. The remainder are enjoying a cosy stable at night and turn out in the sand areas during the day.
The human team
... now flat out with yard duties, whilst we are also making time for the training of the younger horses, the maintenance/improvement of some of the mature horses.
Congratulations to Leigh for passing his full BHS Stage II this week. Lauren unfortunately has had to postpone her exam having been trodden on the foot by the lovely Zela!
Sheila and Hugh have just returned from a much needed and long awaited holiday in Portugal, riding of course. The instruction given by riders/trainers of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art was rather tough, but inspiring too. We also slept a lot. Lauren and Leigh did us absolutely proud by holding the fort brilliantly during our absence.
The Farm
Revived after the break, Hugh has many projects for the farm on his "to do" list now. A revamp for the cottage being at the top.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gilfach soon.
