Diary (Mid October 2010)

Properly Autumn Now

Without wanting to speak too soon, the Autumn this year is turning out to be a very pleasant one.  Reasonably dry, temperatures at "seasonal average", and not tempestuous - (yet?).  All of this means that we are able to continue to use some of our summer fields; the grass is continuing to grow in the winter fields (and our winters are l-o-n-g-!); and we have been able to harrow, roll, muck-spead the other summer paddocks with ease as appropriate.

Horses

With a few minor "blips", all our lovely horses are thriving.  The team is somewhat smaller now, and the likes of Larry, Molly, Bobby, Timber, George, Floy, Alfie, and now even Tesoro (!) are doing a great job for us. We, hopefully, are doing a great job for them too.  Team work!

The current "blip" is Ico having a relatively new treatment to his hocks that are showing signs of arthritis.  Our Vet seems very optimistic that Ico is a good candidate for IRAP.  Fingers crossed very firmly here.

Staff

We have always had a great team of grooms, staff, trainees.  They come, experience the Gilfach touch (& training!) - and then move on sooner or later....
