The End of Summer (?), but a Welcome to Autumn
With the Summer Holidays coming to a close, Gilfach is entering a less busy time having enjoyed offering the "Gilfach Experience" to many appreciative guests.
Do remember our doors are open all-year-round. Keep an eye on this page for forthcoming riding/horsemanship courses we are devising for the year ahead.
Although the predominantly green countryside around us has a definite orange tinge; the nights have a distinctly nippy feel; and our horses are slowly shedding their sleek summer coats for something a little thicker and woolier - the end of Summer is looking and feeling fabulous so far. Beautiful sunshine, clear skies, and a freshness (even more than usual!) in the air!
The Horses
After a short bout of minor injuries/illnesses, all of the equine team are again up to speed and fit & healthy. As usual, our school horses are doing their best for us and our clients, whilst the younger Gilfach horses are coming along very nicely. Having a Classical ethos of horsemanship, we are in no hurry to push our horses beyond their physical or mental capabilities, but our sights are high for them.
The Staff
Gilfach has, more often than not, been blessed with some amazing staff, and this Summer has been no exception. We have had some great "Work Experience" assistants this year - (a big thank you to them), and our current team (Anna, Alex, Helen & Kirsty) are doing us very proud too - their commitment to our horses is a great credit to them and a huge benefit to us! Comments from our guests of what a good team we make are testament to that!
Developments
Hugh, with the much appreciated help from John, has done a fantastic job of creating even more of a paradise for us and our horses at Gilfach. Hugh's quite a dab hand at photography too! (New pictures are gradually going to appear on our website, and on Larry's Facebook page very soon!).
